Adios, Stuntman

Posted by deckard47 on January 24, 2008

This just in from Kotaku (oooh, look, I’m reporting!), it looks like the Stuntman series is no more. This saddens me, because (despite the fact that I only played the demo) Stuntman: Ignition really had me going for a while there. Sure, eventually you realize that it’s an exercise in grueling perfection and┬árepetition, but the payoff was worth it. I loved the custom camera angles and faux “movie” feel. Think what cool features (your own customizable movie trailers, multiple camera angles, online movie trailer sharing, competitions, etc.) they could have added in the next one. Oh, and as for the Juiced series, it was extremely disappointing, so no worries.

Stuntman Repitition

Posted by deckard47 on December 9, 2007

So as I’ve been trying to work, I have also been playing “Stuntman: Ignition,” which is actually pretty awesome. You get to pilot a car through tons of different movie sets, trying to get as many close calls and cool tricks as you can, and then it shows you a movie trailer-style replay of your driving. It does rely a lot on repetition (I still haven’t gotten perfect on the first demo track, and I can bet that every map will be like this), as you discover by trial and error what works best in each situation.
